The After Affects of Storm Damage

Having your home affected by water damage due to a storm is never easy, and many people choose to remedy the damage themselves.  However, an improperly dried out area with carpeting can lead to even worse damage in the long run.  Below many areas that are covered with carpeting is a matting and subflooring system that all becomes affected by water damage.  If these areas are not completely dried out all the way through the matting and subflooring, a foul odor and mold growth may start to affect the area.  Once mold starts growing, it does not take long to spread, so it is important to ensure you are taking the proper steps to completely dry out areas following a water damage.
